Intermountain Health Registered Nurse Shared Leader Operating Room in Layton, Utah

Job Description:

The RN Shared Leader supports the fundamentals of safety, quality, experience and stewardship by providing clinical expertise and leadership to their department. As a part of line management, this role will have significant leadership responsibilities, including several of the following: leading change, scheduling, maintenance of staff competencies, new employee selection / orientation, constructive discipline, and completion of annual employee performance reviews. The RN Shared Leader has accountability for coordination of a cohort of caregivers and actively participates in the overall operations of the department, development of department practice, and provision of patient care with specified accountabilities for implementation and outcomes. The RN Shared Leader supports and enforces department policies/procedures to ensure safe, efficient and effective patient care.

Job Essentials

This position will have oversight over experience and leadership responsibilities for the team. They will also need to function as a charge nurse one shift per week and two patient care shifts.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current RN License in state of practice.

  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

  • (Applicants must either have required additional certifications (e.g. ACLS, PALs, NRP) upon hire or must obtain them within a specified timeframe determined by service line and department guidelines.)

  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience.

  • Demonstrated nursing experience in assigned clinical area

  • RNs hired or promoted into this role need to have or obtain their BSN within three years of hire or promotion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

  • Two years of supervisory experience in a clinical nursing setting.

  • One year of nursing experience.

  • 5 years Operating Room experience

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.

Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

  • and -

Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$42.70 - $61.93
