Howmet Aerospace CNC Milling Setter Operator MK1 AM SHIFT in Leicester, United Kingdom

Site: Leicester, Meridian Business Park, Leicester, LE19 1WH

Position: CNC Miling Setter/Operator (MK1) - competitive hourly rate in line with Grading Structure, + 17.5% shift allowance, excellent site, and employee benefits including competitive pension package and life assurance

Shift: AM SHIFT - Monday to Thursday 6 am to 2.30 pm and Friday early finish 11.30 am - attracts shift premium of 17.5% of basic pay

Essential Functions The key activities outlined below represent an overview only of the position of CNC Milling Setter/Operator based on site at the Leicester Plant and should not be seen as a prescriptive list of activities. A flexible and responsive approach to this role is vital, together with the initiative in identifying and focusing on the needs of the business and its customers.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Set, Fault Find & Operate machines to produce fasteners to strict tolerances.

  • In process deburring and Self Inspection

  • To use gauges and measuring equipment to ensure product meets required specifications.

  • Self-certification of personal work.

  • To prove out downloaded programs so they are in line with the correct timings in accordance with our manufacturing and quality standards and then to upload the proven program.

  • Keep all computer files and manual paperwork accurate and up to date at all times.

  • Ensure housekeeping is maintained to the highest standards.

  • Ensure all quality procedures are adhered to, taking an active part in root cause analysis.

  • Undertake to train on all machines to ensure 100% flexibility in the workplace, and once fully trained to train others.

  • To actively take part in locally focused, or multi-functional continuous improvement teams.

  • Work as fully flexible team member within the Company to maximize levels of production and quality.

  • Maximize plant and resource utilization.

    Education, Experience & Background

  • Experience of working within a busy Manufacturing environment.

  • Experience setting CNC Milling Machines, preferably Brother Speedio Milling machine (Fanuc based). CNC Turning capabilities would an advantage.

  • Aerospace experience would be advantageous.
