WestRock Company Quality Control Supervisor in Leicester, United Kingdom

The opportunity: Working within a fast-paced environment the job holder will work with the Assistant Quality Manager providing support to the Quality department on day-to-day tasks. Working with the Assistant Quality Manager, the job holder will actively investigate and resolve customer quality queries, facilitate the success of continuous improvement teams, as well as identify any trends in quality issues before they become a problem.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

  • Manage, supervise and support the daily tasks of the QC Inspectors (time sheets/attendance/holiday workflows)

  • Oversite of the day-to-day expectations of the department and planning schedule

  • Manage the release process of all batches through Quality Control function

  • To ensure that all output meets customer specification and is produced in accordance with BS EN ISO 9001 and PS9000

  • Dealing with day-to-day customer quality queries - certification/sampling

  • Ensure compliance to Man 28 across the site

  • Customer liaison in audits as required

  • Conducting internal and external supplier quality audits

  • Liaise closely with production departments on issues and improvements

  • Raise internal complaints and discrepancies in Q-Pulse

  • Evaluate and manage customer Quality agreements, ensure the information is made available to the production team in the right format at the right version

  • Complete project work and validation as required by the Quality Manager

  • Manage the control of non-conforming product - impound and quarantine.

  • Liaise with the Customer Services department, i.e. shortage recording/trending

  • Cover senior quality roles and support other sites as and when required

What you need to succeed:

  • Demonstrable experience in a Quality role

  • Proven experience of leading a team

  • Experience in a manufacturing/production environment ideally with experience and knowledge of Industry standards and guidelines

  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

  • Competent in using Microsoft Office packages
