TEKsystems LENEXA, KS - Cable Installation Technician in Lenexa, Kansas

Description:

We have a project installing equipment inside of Schools around Lenexa KS. This project is calling for a Cable Technician to help with installing Telecom equipment and cables. We need techs that are very familiar with installing and terminating Cat5 Cable, Cat 6 Cables, installing WAP, paging systems, and Cameras. Techs need to be able to operate a lift.

The working environment would be in school buildings. The majority of the work would be performed on lifts at heights of 20 plus feet. Looking for a reliable technician with diverse knowledge of the telecommunications cabling industry. Traveling around the Kansas City area

3P-11:30pm WHILE SCHOOL IS ON - 7a-330p DAY SHIFT WHEN OUT FOR SUMMER (Current Shift)

This is a long-term project and Wachter will move you around to different school districts based on needs and your location. During the school year, this is a 2nd shift project, during summer it is a day project. This is working with the school systems so we have to work around the school schedule. The techs will need to know how to dress in cat6 cabling to IDF/MDF racks, pull cat6 cables, Terminate cat6 cables and test cat6 cables.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must work well with others, comfortable working on lifts, not afraid of heights

Must be wearing the following below on site!

Wachter does have hard hats, ear plugs and safety glasses we can get for guys that need them but would need to know that up front.

PPE typically provided includes:

Hard hat with Wachter logo

High visibility vest

Safety glasses

Hearing protection

Cut resistant gloves

First aid kit

Lock Out/Tag out kit

GFCI outlet

Fall system to include a harness and lanyard

Techs have to provide their own safety toed boots, not shoes, boots with ankle protection. Steel or composite toe required to meet OSHA standards.

If they wear prescription glasses, they have to have side shields or they need to wear something over them to provide side protection.
