Shift
Typically eight-hour days with core working hours between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm (40 hrs per week). Some weekends/evenings as needed to meet workload demands.
Job Summary
The Human Development Institute at the University of Kentucky is seeking to fill an Early Care and Education Coach position. This position will work as a Professional Development Coach.

Located in Louisville, KY and serving the Jefferson Region, the person working in a Professional Development Coach position will provide technical assistance to licensed early care and education programs and certified homes on applying for and renewing scholarships for Early Childhood. The coach will inform and advise potential scholars and scholars for college coursework, non-college (courses, trainings) and assist with obtaining awards, mini grants, and reimbursement. They will also assist with creating professional development plans to support high quality early care and education services, locating educational resources, and using ECE-TRIS to support professional development planning.

They will also collaborate with local, regional, and statewide community partners, as well as their Jefferson Region team, other Professional Development Coaches and a statewide network of ECE Coaches that provide technical assistance to ECE providers in the areas of health and safety, quality, training.

This position works from a central office location in Downtown Louisville (as well as a home office) and requires travel throughout all parts of Louisville as needed for on-site visits to deliver relationship-based, individualized technical assistance to current and potential early childhood scholars, directors, approved training agencies and community partners.

Preferred candidates will have knowledge of and experience with the early childhood scholarship college and non-college scholarship process, ECE-TRIS, and writing and implementing professional development plans. Ideally, they live in or very near Louisville, have both lived experiences and child care work experiences in Louisville, and demonstrate knowledge of and experience with the diverse Louisville community.

Preferred Education/Experience
Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
Driver’s license and vehicle preferred.
