Robert Half Assistant Controller in Libertyville, Illinois

Description We are in search of an Assistant Controller located in Libertyville, Illinois, United States, to join our team in the Accounting/Finance industry. This role will encompass a variety of tasks including planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions, managing audits with outside auditors, and overseeing regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process all accounting operational functions and ensure their regular review and improvement.

• Oversee the preparation of monthly financial reports and perform analysis to understand the financial state of the business.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and internal control processes, implementing updates and improvements as needed.

• Coordinate with affiliates and outside advisors to maintain an intercompany agreements database covering ongoing operations.

• Manage staffing processes, such as recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.

• Handle payroll processing and assist with benefits and open enrollment periods.

• Oversee commercial, liability, and workers comp insurance renewal and audits.

• Manage routine maintenance on facilities and coordinate IT requests.

• Perform any business administration-related ad hoc tasks as required.

Skills:

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems and ADP - Financial Services.

• Experience with Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Knowledge of Auditing, Budget Processes, and e-Commerce.

• Experience in Benefits Administration. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role such as Assistant Controller

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Prior experience with ADP - Financial Services is a must

• Demonstrable knowledge and experience in Accounting Functions

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with Auditing processes and procedures

• Experience in managing Budget Processes

• Knowledge of e-Commerce platforms and related financial procedures

• Experience in Benefits Administration

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
