Job Title: CNC Programmer and Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer and Operator responsible for programming, set-up, and production processes for proto-type, complex, and tight tolerance parts. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, ensuring minimal errors and adherence to project deadlines. This role also emphasizes maintaining a safe and orderly production area.

Responsibilities

  • Program CNC machines for new parts and optimize existing programs.

  • Write programs for proto-type, complex, and tight tolerance parts.

  • Read work orders, flow sheets, and part drawings to determine job specifics.

  • Develop machining processes with a focus on automation and high-speed manufacturing.

  • Design, create, and manufacture advanced fixtures for use with or without automation.

  • Design and create custom tool holders, custom cutters, and custom work-holding solutions.

  • Oversee projects from start to finish, including programming, set-up, troubleshooting, and production.

  • Proficiently use SolidWorks and Mastercam.

  • Proficiently handle 5-axis programming and operations.

  • Measure parts using manual inspection tools for first article parts and during production runs.

  • Diagnose production issues and make necessary program edits at the machine.

  • Use ERP software for data collection, logging time and job details.

  • Load and verify tools, fixtures, and programs.

  • Set up on 3, 4, and 5 axis machines.

  • Abide by and support all safety, 5S, and quality system requirements.

  • Communicate effectively to ensure successful completion of production jobs.

  • Complete any other duties as directed.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in CNC programming, specifically with Mastercam.

  • Proficiency in mechanical machining.

  • Experience with Lathe and Mill operations.

  • Proficiency in 5-axis programming and operations.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC machining.

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints.

  • Experience in using manual inspection gauges.

  • Experience in writing and revising programs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience as a machining lead is ideal.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $37.00/hr.
