Western Union AML Compliance Leader, Lisbon - Portugal in Lisbon, Portugal

Are you passionate about combating financial crime? Western Union is seeking an AML Compliance Leader to join our team in Lisbon. In this role, you will be pivotal in developing risk-based AML compliance programs for Western Union and its affiliates. You'll be responsible for long- and short-term planning, adapting to diverse and evolving environments, and managing priorities effectively. Your duties will include developing, implementing, and enforcing policies, procedures, and programs to minimize money laundering and terrorism financing risks, ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering and terrorism financing requirements, and providing leadership and guidance to supervisors and staff in multiple locations. As the heart of our payment’s compliance division in Portugal, you'll shape compliance functions, influence strategic initiatives, manage change, and foster strong relationships with global partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Developrisk-basedAML/CTFcomplianceprogramsforassignedcountriesandaffiliates.

  • Plan,adapt,andmanageprioritiesinadiverseandevolvingenvironment.

  • Ensurecompliancewithanti-moneylaunderingandcounter-terrorismfinancingrequirements.

  • Provideleadershipandguidancetosupervisorsandstaffinmultiplelocations.

  • Shapecompliancefunctionsandchampionstrategicinitiatives.

  • Managechangeinitiativesanddevelopprocessimprovements.

  • Developstrongongoingrelationshipswithglobalpartners.

  • Deliverreportsanddatatoassistseniormanagement.

Requirements:

  • Minimum7yearsofrelevantexperienceincomplexretail/consumerfinancialservices/paymentservicesorganizationsorregulatoryagenciesinvolvingpaymentservicescompliance.

  • Minimum5yearsofrelevantexperienceinBankSecrecyAct,AML/CTF,orRegulatoryCompliance.

  • Projectmanagementexperiencewiththeabilitytodriveprojectstosuccessfulcompletion.

  • WorkingknowledgeofGlobalAML/CFTregulations,moneylaundering,fraudschemes,andinvestigativetechniques.

  • Previousinternalauditexperienceand/orfinancialconsultingexperiencedesirable.

  • Professionalcertificationinrelateddisciplinespreferred(CPA,CIA,CAMS).

  • Bachelor’sdegreepreferredorequivalentcorporateexperience.

  • Strongorganizational,interpersonal,analytical,problem-solving,influencing,anddecision-makingskills.

  • Excellentoralandwrittencommunicationskills.

  • Must be proficient in English. KnowledgeofSpanishwillbevalued.
