Volt Lab Tech I in Little Canada, Minnesota

Volt is immediately hiring for a Lab Tech 1 in Maplewood, Minnesota. This is a first shift position The position of Laboratory Technician will provide technical assistance to engineers by performing routine and complex laboratory tasks for the Application Engineering Department of the Automotive Aftermarket Laboratory. As a Lab Tech 1 you will:

  • Prepare materials and organize for product testing.
  • Assist in laboratory experiments through testing and evaluation of new materials and products based on research.
  • Welding, sanding, painting, facility maintenance & organization, etc.
  • Perform statistical data analysis, interpretation, and documentation of experimental results in technical notebooks.
  • Assist in assuring availability of raw materials by maintaining and ordering needed supplies and equipment.

This is a full time contingent opportunity. Estimated Duration 24+ months. The ideal candidate will have:

  • 6 months of post-high school formal technical training.
  • Minimum of 1 year laboratory or collision repair industry experience.
  • Technical Institution diploma / certificate in Collision Repair Technology(Preferred).
  • Previous experience in the automotive/repair market highly desired.
  • Demonstrated experience using power tools and testing equipment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of automotive refinish coatings.
  • Computer experience in Excel, Minitab, PowerPoint, and Project.

Pay Rate: $22.00 hr.
