The Environmental Engineering and Consulting team delivers solutions for complex environmental challenges using our regulatory expertise and implementing practical and cost-effective compliance management processes and programs. We address our clients\' biggest concerns around permitting, ecoservices, assessment, and remediation.

Our highly trained and experienced engineers and scientists, environmental and remediation specialists, geologists, hydrogeologists, biologists, and environmental compliance specialists work with both public- and private-sector clients, delivering turnkey solutions.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Our Center of Excellence (COE) Manager position is located in Little Rock, AR, reporting to the COE Director. As a key member of the MES Center of Excellence within the finance team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:

Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and manage a team responsible for customer contract set-up, project set-up, project maintenance, invoicing, and collections.
  • Develop and implement standardized processes for efficient and accurate contract and project management.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
  • Motivate and inspire high performance from team members to achieve departmental goals.
  • Establish key performance metrics to measure and report on the service levels of the COE.
  • Manage two supervisors with overall responsibility of 8-10 people and growing.

Contract and Project Management:

  • Oversee the entire contract set-up process, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Lead the collaboration efforts with the Project Managers and Operational leaders to define and maintain roles and responsibilities between Operations and Finance teams.
  • Manage project set-ups, including resource allocation, budget setting, and timelines.
  • Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate potential risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Establish a standardized project close-out process to ensure all project elements are properly completed.
  • Perform look back analysis on large projects to assess performance against the original project budget and scope.
  • Contribute to the design and roll-out of new business processes to monitor and report on project KPI\'s. Collaborate with the Workday support team to develop automation tools or reports to assist in project monitoring.
  • Ensure clear communication and alignment between internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee the t am responsible for customer invoicing and collections process, ensuring timely and accurate billing for client services.
  • Track project contract budgets and ensure project profitability. Provide project overrun reports to operational leaders
  • Analyze financial data and generate reports to identify trends and improve financial performance.
  • Work collaboratively with the corporate accounting department and FP&A teams to ensure smooth financial operations.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes within contract set-up, project set-up, project maintenance, invoicing, and collections.
  • Implement new technologies and best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Encourage team members to identify and suggest process improvements.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and utilizing data to identify areas for optimization.
