General Responsibilities:

Responsible for monitoring and providing on-site project oversight to a team of laborers and heavy equipment operators performing environmental remediation construction services including the utilization of roto-tillers, track-hoes, dozers and the like. Assist in preparation of proposal and cost estimates, verify project cost reports, and remediation construction services. Services may take place in the field on client sites or in the engineering project office. Provide guidance and instruction on the assessment of site conditions and issues that may arise. Coordinate testing, remediation construction, scheduling and training of the staff.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and provide on-site project oversight to skilled/certified and unskilled laborers and heavy equipment operators in the performance of remediation construction services.

  • Assist in the preparation of pre-construction documents, proposals and estimating phases of projects.

  • Provide daily monitoring and progress of current projects.

  • Assist in the review of submittals for processing and contractor payment applications with Project Manager and Superintendent. Review cost reports to assure they reflect accurate quantities and work put in place.

  • Monitor cost, including equipment, labor time and materials.

  • Maintain project schedule and communicate with Remediation Construction Services Superintendent on resource requirements and project updates.

  • Dispatch staff to project sites based on skill set, certifications, location, project and priority, in coordination with Project Manager and Superintendent.

  • Regularly communicate with Superintendent to provide up to date information regarding the company’s ability to meet expected project timelines, client needs for projects and project status.

  • Meets with utility companies to verify that locations are clear of underground utilities, and conduct any required inspections.

  • Ensure that testing and remediation construction services are completed in accordance with project plans and specifications; provide technical guidance and work direction.

  • Maintain site specific client relations.

  • Assist in the training and development of staff.

  • Attend and participate in project meetings, including client and subcontractor meetings.

  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff.

  • May provide assistance with testing services, as needed.

  • Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company. Be familiar with company risk policies.

  • Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follow safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; ensuring an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and mentor others and demonstrates safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.

  • Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor quality standards and practices. Engage Approved Project Reviewers (APRs) on projects at their onset.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a foreman

  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products.

  • Strong decision making/problem solving skills.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history. CDL preferred.

  • For Remediation Construction projects, TWIC and DOT medical card preferred.

Preferred Certification:

  • Department of Transportation Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
