Description

We are in search of a meticulous Sr. Accountant to join our team based in Livermore, California. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be involved in the day-to-day activities and month-end process to ensure the integrity of the general ledger and other key responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in daily business activities related to the General Ledger to resolve issues before month-end close.

• Prepare and enter journal entries for month-end closing as well as assessments associated with accruals, prepaids, reserve reviews, amortization, freight tracking and recording.

• Carry out monthly reconciliations of key general ledger accounts and provide flux analysis.

• Assist the Finance and Accounting team in creating month-end general ledger and financial reports, and review month-end budget versus actual cost center reports.

• Provide audit evidence and explanations to internal and external auditors as required.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and execute accounting projects as assigned.

• Leverage accounting background including General Ledger, account reconciliation, month-end close activities, and financial analysis.

• Utilize advanced Excel skills and experience with big ERP systems like NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP.

• Develop a thorough understanding of sales and manufacturing functions.

• Conduct account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation tasks.

• Perform duties related to bank reconciliations and journal entries.

• Participate in month-end close activities.

Requirements

• Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Sr. Accountant role or similar

• Proficiency in account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation is necessary

• Experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger management is required

• Must be adept at making journal entries and handling month-end close procedures

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is expected

• Familiarity with software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is beneficial

• Must hold a relevant degree in Accounting or Finance

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary

• Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events

• Must have a strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
