Career Opportunity: Senior HR Generalist
Reporting to: Human Resources Manager
Candidate Location: North Logan, UT (works on-site)
Spartronics is hiring a?Senior Human Resources Generalist,?who will work onsite, to establish positive and effective representation of the Human Resource Department through efficient activities in all areas of Human Resources within the facility. Major areas of focus are Payroll, benefits, recruitment, management and interpretation of policies and procedures, consulting with facility managers and supervisors, and special project participation. Assists Human Resource Manager, as needed. ?We are looking for candidates with 5+ years of Human Resource Experience, who bring creativity and ideas to the team to help us constantly improve our processes and overall employee experience.
Core Responsibilities
Compensation & Benefits Administration:
- Owns the payroll processes and oversee employee benefits administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Assist with annual compensation cycle.
- Administers health and welfare plans including enrollments and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions. Manages medical and other leaves of absence to include workers' compensation leaves, FMLA tracking and monitoring and tracking STD/LTD.
- Assists with annual benefits open enrollment period at location. Arranges for distribution of materials from carriers; assists with communicating changes to employees and processes changes within deadlines.
- Strives to ensure employee understanding of benefit programs by proactively recommending and developing process improvements in materials and communications.
Employee Relations:
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees and management, managing complex employee relations issues, conducting investigations, and ensuring fair and compliant resolutions.
Onboarding & Offboarding:
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Assists with preparation of annual affirmative action plan.
- Conducts new employee orientations to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions. Counsels' employees (and potential employees/applicants) on plan provisions so that individuals can be informed benefit decisions.
- Conducts exit interviews.
Reporting:
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
- Maintains HRIS records and compiles reports from database.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
Policy & Compliance:
- Ensures compliance with all required safety, environmental, quality and security guidelines, policies & regulations. Reporting and, whenever possible, correcting violations in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Assists in develop ment and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; assists in preparation and maintenance of employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
- Addresses employee's questions regarding interpretation of com any policies and regulations.
- Assists with Front Desk duties and compliance with ITAR regulations.
Performance Management & Training & Development:
- Organize and administer ongoing cross-functional (not role-specific) employee training programs.
- Assists in administering performance management programs.
- Performs other related HR duties as required and assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant HR experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Manufacturing or plant experience preferred.
- Language Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ADP; ability to analyze data and generate reports.
- Other Skills: Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and relationship-building abilities; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
