Meta Content Policy Manager, Stakeholder Engagement for Generative AI in London, United Kingdom

Summary:

Meta is seeking a seasoned Content Policy Manager to join our Stakeholder Engagement team, focusing on Generative AI products and issues. As the Stakeholder Engagement Manager, you will cultivate and fortify relationships with global external stakeholders to inform our policies governing Generative AI tools, misinformation, and algorithmic ranking. This entails collaborating closely with NGOs, advocacy groups, academics, and thought leaders worldwide to integrate their insights into our policy and product development processes. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills and a deep understanding of policy issues around Artificial Intelligence in the area of content policy – extending to such issues as information integrity, misinformation, algorithmic ranking, and the regulation of online spaces. You will need to possess a thorough grasp of the AI and internet advocacy stakeholder landscape, including NGOs, advocacy groups, academics, and other thought leaders. Your role will involve developing a strategy for engaging with these stakeholders, particularly around Generative AI, misinformation, and algorithmic ranking policies globally.This is a full time position.

Required Skills:

Content Policy Manager, Stakeholder Engagement for Generative AI Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement engagement strategies with advocacy groups, academics, and think tanks to shape Meta’s Generative AI product policies.

  2. Identify, cultivate, and establish partnerships with key external stakeholders focusing on Generative AI, AI safety, misinformation, algorithmic ranking, and online regulation.

  3. Collect, analyze, and convey external feedback on Meta’s content policies to inform our policy development.

  4. Maintain a pulse on public dialogue related to generative AI, AI safety, misinformation, online regulation, and algorithmic ranking, including via synthesizing key research and policy papers on these topics.

  5. Create and deliver presentations and other communication materials to articulate policy positions to external audiences effectively.

  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our policies based on external insights.

  7. Join the policy on-call roster to help field policy questions on high priority escalations, with an expectation to think critically about complex problems and exercise excellent judgment under time pressure.

  8. Develop strategies for the team's presence at conferences, workshops, and other external forums. Represent Meta at external events and engagements.

  9. Create tools and metrics to gauge the impact of external engagement on policy outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 3+ years of experience in online safety and/or content policy.

  2. Effective written and oral communication skills.

  3. Experience in analytical-thinking and problem-solving.

  4. Experience in engaging with a diverse set of stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 7+ years of policy, law, or government experience.

  2. Advanced degree in law, public policy, communications, business, computer science, or AI.

  3. Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders on tech policy matters.

  4. Track record of driving product or policy changes based on stakeholder input, particularly in tech companies.

  5. Experience articulating policies and their reasoning to various audiences effectively.

  6. Previous roles in social media platforms, internet companies, AI labs, or technology-focused government or think tanks.

  7. Strong project prioritization skills and experience interacting with stakeholders at different levels.
