Citigroup Oracle ERP Functional Consultant - VP in London, United Kingdom

Role Introduction / Overview:

An Oracle ERP Functional Consultant will support the functional delivery of Oracle General Ledger for Citi ensuring an alignment of product functionality with business needs. The consultant will have a good understanding of ERP suite of applications gained from previous implementations of Oracle ERP Cloud, (General Leger and/or Accounting Hub), EBS, or similar enterprise grade resource planning solutions e.g., SAP Business Suite or S/4 HANA. This is a great opportunity to be part of one of the largest Oracle implementations in flight globally.

Business / Team Overview:

Citi has embarked on a multi-year Finance Transformation initiative to implement a new Global Financial Accounting and General Ledger platform that provides a daily ledger in every legal entity, linking ledger balances and contract level reconciliations to our daily settlement records and contractual commitments. The Strategic Ledger program as it is named, selected Oracle Cloud as the technology platform of choice, as it provides enhanced technical capability and supports our finance transformation strategy and realization of our Target Operating Model. The Oracle General Ledger functional team is part of the Strategic Ledger program and consists of functional consultants with Oracle product knowledge who serve as subject matter experts on the General Ledger.

Some of the key responsibilities in the role:

  • Provide product knowledge and best practice guidance on adoption of Oracle’s General Ledger platform.

  • Support functional lead in requirements gathering, fit gap analysis and solution design activities.

  • Prepare high quality business requirements and provide input and guidance on functional design documents.

  • Engage with technology teams on development of Citi solutions not met by Oracle out of the box capability.

  • Provide input to test preparation activities, training material development and process documentation as required.

  • Work closely with Finance and program cross functional teams to support testing and business readiness activities.

What knowledge, skills and experience we’ll need from you:

  • Years of relevant work experience with global corporations and financial services experience gained in Banking or in a consulting role.

  • Track record of substantial transformations with Oracle ERP Cloud, SAP ERP or their respective on-premise versions.

  • Understanding of accounting concepts both US GAAP and IFRS, general ledger processes, Chart of Accounts design, and close, consolidation processes.

  • Understanding of the regulatory and control requirements around Citi’s ledgers including ICOFR and SOX.

  • Highly motivated, strong attention to detail, team oriented and organized.

  • Pro-active problem-solver who works well in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

  • Strong written/verbal communications skills; must be concise, articulate, and persuasive with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions and the judgement and authority to provide insightful commentary to senior stakeholders.

  • Comfortable navigating complex, highly matrixed organizations.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels within the organization including a proactive and fully transparent approach to communicating issues/requests.

  • Growth mindset, seeking and implementing feedback and maintaining flexibility to pivot and course correct as needed.

  • Experience of operating in a disciplined program management environment.

Education:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Management or related field is required; CPA or equivalent will be a differentiator

  • Relevant Oracle or SAP expert certification will be an advantage.
