The Business and Sales Operations (BSO) function serves at the heart of the organisation, acting as a trusted advisor by translating strategy into operational execution and driving field transformation. The BSO team is responsible for managing a large number of complex, dynamic programs to maximise business value, understanding them, prioritising them well, de-risking them, and managing feedback to drive improvements. They are skilled in business analytics, program management, communications and storytelling, and negotiations.

In joining BSO as Sales Excellence Manager for the Data & AI and Application Innovation solution areas, you will play a critical business role supporting solutions leadership on strategic, operational, and coaching perspectives to achieve business results for Microsoft. As a Sales Excellence Manager, you will establish & drive the daily rhythm of the business, coach sales leaders on sales execution, and lead the planning and growth initiatives for the solution areas. Data, AI, and App Innovation Sales Excellence Manager

As the Data, AI, and App Innovation Sales Excellence Manager, you will be at the forefront of driving innovation across our Data & AI and App Innovation solution areas. Your role will involve collaborating with leaders and managers across the organisation to ensure seamless business operations and strategic alignment.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about business excellence and execution, with a particular focus on Data, AI, and Apps. You will run the business rhythms across all the STU and CSU Data & AI and App Innovation workloads, engaging with Leaders and Managers across organisations. You will need to identify trends in the Data & AI and App Innovation solution areas and present these with clarity, sharing insights leading to tangible coaching and impactful decision making. Responsibilities

Supporting and Expanding Leadership Impact:

  • Strengthen relationships and provide data-driven insights to influence strategic decisions and support STU and CSU Leadership.

  • Cultivate cross-organisational partnerships to advance leadership agendas, ensuring accountability and follow-through.

  • Assist leaders in critical business management areas such as goal-setting, team culture, communications, budgeting, and industry knowledge.

  • Drive sales and consumption change management initiatives, focusing on metrics, fiscal planning, quota attainment, skill development, and Solution Area Strategy.

Driving Sales and Consumption Pipeline Rigor for Data, AI, and App Innovation Workloads:

  • Coach and mentor STU and CSU Managers to effectively prioritise and execute key initiatives, fostering a culture of coaching within their teams.

  • Spearhead Azure Consumed Revenue growth through strategic business planning and execution.

  • Analyse performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.

  • Establish and maintain a consistent communication rhythm (RoC), facilitating Azure Scrum calls and enforcing pipeline rigor to ensure quality outcomes.

  • Provide guidance to sales teams on effective sales strategies, including upselling, cross-selling, renewal strategies, and delivering value-based solutions for customer success.

Business Transformation and Change Management:

  • Collaborate with Business Groups and Corporate teams to eliminate sales barriers, optimise investment utilisation, and enhance seller/partner effectiveness.

  • Ensure alignment with Microsoft's strategic partnerships to safeguard continuity of business interests.

  • Lead the implementation of the Innovation Accelerate Program and critical Azure KPIs, providing insights for top-down strategies and empowering teams with actionable reporting.

  • Engage with internal stakeholders and Microsoft teams to develop and execute plans, driving innovation and operational excellence.

  • Establish robust checks and balances to safeguard Microsoft's interests in strategic partnerships and business continuity.

Qualifications

  • Experience with active participation in sales, sales operations/management, account management, program management, business development, marketing, consulting, or a related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

Desired qualifications/experience

  • Experience working in an organisation that specialises in cloud technology, working in a Sales Operations role or similar.
