About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Seamstress to join our team in Linen Room at Jumeirah Carlton Tower. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:
Accurately measuring customers using tape measure to ensure proper fit or garments.
Ensuring that sewing machines and other equipment are in good working order.
Altering or repairing customers garments and other articles, which includes hemming, mending, lengthening, as well as taking in and letting out seams.
Constructing garments and other articles and recording the alternations required.
Communicating with customers to determine their specifications, needs and preferences.
Using irons and pressing machines to erase the crease on the garments and other articles.
To report any complaints, accidents, equipment malfunction, maintenance faults, suspicious persons, safety hazards or other incidents immediately to the supervisor or the duty Manager.
To understand and follow all the objectives, standards, policies and procedures outlined by the Linen Room Manager.
To ensure that strict control is carried out when receiving and returning work equipment. E.g. Keys or cleaning equipment.
To be responsible for the worksheet assigned and ensure that all request is correctly logged to the standard required.
About You
You will have the following knowledge & experience:
Previous experience as a seamstress or tailor in a 5* deluxe luxury property, preferably in London.
Proven track record in high-volume, luxury environments.
Strong customer service skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety standards.
Ability to work with a variety of fabrics and materials, including delicate and high-end textiles.
Excellent attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship.
