Key job responsibilities

We are looking for Software Development Engineers to join the Video Commerce Web experience team. We are building capabilities to provide world class user experience for the Prime Video Universal Checkout Funnel (UCF) across Web, Mobile Web, Android and FireTV which allows customers to subscribe and purchase content seamlessly. We leverage industry leading technologies to enhance customer experience on mobile, big screen, web browsers, Amazon and non-Amazon living room devices.

We are seeking team players with interest in full stack development to build reusable software components for scalable and resilient solutions. The candidate must possess analytical and communication skills, motivation and tenacity to deliver results in a fast-paced environment, and, of course, a passion for TV and films.

You will have opportunities to learn how to design and implement full-stack solutions especially core front end website solutions, solving problems related to processing large numbers of commerce flows and providing template-driven configuration to construct our customers’ commerce journeys. Technologies include Java, Python, JavaScript and React, SQL and NoSQL databases, and AWS services.

A day in the life

In our day-to-day, we typically meet up the team (virtually and in person) as part of our agile ceremonies (like daily huddles, fortnightly story refinement, estimation, prioritisation and planning, and retros), technical approach and design reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and project meetings. We fill most of our days with designing and building capabilities, as well as continuously improving our services and operations, having fun and maintaining work and life harmony for longer-term team sustainability. About the team

We own the engine that powers Prime Video Commerce Experiences in all devices and territories. We partner with a number of service teams to integrate them into a trust-nurturing customer experience.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

London, GBR

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

  • Experience in professional, non-internship software development

  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
