What you will be doing in this role:

The Associate Director, Content is a key member of the digital marketing team and responsible for setting the overall strategy for digital brand content published by Cedars-Sinai. Key responsibilities include planning, creating, maintaining, measuring, and adjusting integrated storytelling designed to strengthen our brand’s voice across a variety of digital platforms (including marketing automation, CRM, search engine marketing, social media, e-communications, etc.) Be able to demonstrate expertise in how content can be used to influence audiences both from an awareness and acquisition perspective. Be passionate about brand marketing, experienced in campaign creation, interested in scientific discovery, and ready to innovate. This role works cross functionally with other areas and team members throughout Marketing and Communications and Cedars-Sinai:

  • Creates a comprehensive yearly digital content strategy or plan that drives story development across a variety of platforms -- from digital magazines and blogs to patient-facing campaigns and social media. Partners with the project management team to facilitate project intake alignment.

  • Identifies industry trends, content gaps, algorithm changes, and business shifts influencing content creation and the effectiveness of marketing.

  • Guides the content production team on information architecture, SEO optimization, video formatting, and graphic design to ensure deliverables are search-engine friendly and offer ideal user experiences.

  • Provides strategic direction, leadership, coaching and motivation to ensure that all parties work together to establish priorities and maintain a culture where data and marketing insights drive decision-making.

  • Ensures that content initiatives are tracked and measured to monitor effectiveness. Defines key performance indicators (KPIs), conversion events, measurement methodologies and success criteria and/or benchmarks. Reports outcomes to leadership and key cross-functional partners.

  • Defines and incorporates target audiences into planning to inform content strategy and differentiate the needs of key segments or personas when needed to improve performance.

  • Embraces exploring emerging digital technologies to pilot telling stories in new ways with younger audiences.

  • Creates and manages relationships with external content creators or influencers as needed.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, business administration or another relevant major is required. Master of Business Administration or masters in another relevant major is preferred.

  • A minimum of 6 years of digital strategy or content management experience in an agency setting, with a major consumer brand, or in a complex and highly-regulated organization required.
