About the Opportunity
We have an immediate opening for a Facilities - General Repairs/Maintenance Worker with a well-respected nonprofit organization in Los Angeles. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in facility maintenance, general repairs, plumbing, painting, and overall upkeep of a large office space supporting approximately 400 employees.
Key Responsibilities
Perform general maintenance, including minor repairs to office equipment, furniture, and fixtures
Conduct painting, patching, and drywall repairs as needed
Ensure all common areas, conference rooms, and office spaces are in good working condition
Assist with furniture moves, installations, and setups
Maintain cleanliness and safety in maintenance areas, storage rooms, and facility grounds
Identify and report any maintenance issues requiring further attention
Work closely with office staff and external vendors to coordinate larger repairs or maintenance projects
Requirements
Previous experience in general building maintenance, repairs, or a related field is preferred
Basic knowledge of plumbing, painting, electrical work, and carpentry
Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
