Description
A Hospital Business Office is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Insurance Collections Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate billing records, handling all insurance collection operations, and provide essential assistance with insurance denials.
Responsibilities:
Manage insurance billing and collection activities.
Handle credit balances and initiate refunds when necessary.
Review accounts for unpaid claims and take necessary actions to collect.
Resolve billing discrepancies and clarify insurance denial reasons.
Collaborate with insurance companies to resolve unpaid claims.
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records in line with the Health Information Privacy Act (HIPAA).
Adhere to all company policies and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
Coordinate customer billing inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Requirements • Must have at least 3 years of experience in a Medical Biller/Collections Specialist role or similar in the healthcare industry
• Proficiency in using UB04 form is required
• Experience in Medical Billing and Medical Collections is necessary
• Must have a solid understanding of Medical Appeals and Medical Denials
• Familiarity with Hospital Billing, Hospital Inpatient, Hospital Outpatient, and Hospital Revenue Cycle is essential
• Ability to use Medical software efficiently is a must
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required
• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential
• Must have a high level of integrity and maintain confidentiality of patient information
• A degree or certification in a related field is preferred but not required.
