Job Title: Automation Maintenance Technician AWS Schedule

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician with experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC machines. The ideal candidate will handle automation machine tool electrical maintenance, working on a variety of CNC equipment including CNC mills (vertical and horizontal), CNC machining centers, and robotics. You will work with over 35 OEM machine brands and handle equipment such as P&H cranes/hoists, conveyors, furnaces, large part washers, ABB robots, and CNC machine tools. You will also be responsible for repairing CNC and PLC equipment with controllers from brands like Fanuc, Siemens, Modicon, and others. Key tasks include troubleshooting and repairing AC/DC analog and digital drives, sensors, cables, wiring, drive faults, encoders, and 480V systems. You will connect a laptop to machines to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues. The maintenance team uses an MMS system to generate work orders, and you will log all maintenance performed using a company-provided computer/tablet. Prioritize machinery repairs based on the value stream of the equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machines.

  • Handle automation machine tool electrical maintenance.

  • Work with various CNC equipment including CNC mills, machining centers, and robotics.

  • Repair CNC and PLC equipment with controllers from brands such as Fanuc, Siemens, and Modicon.

  • Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC analog and digital drives, sensors, cables, wiring, drive faults, encoders, and 480V systems.

  • Connect a laptop to machines for diagnostics and repairs.

  • Use an MMS system to generate work orders and log maintenance performed.

  • Prioritize machinery repairs based on the value stream of the equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Certified Electrician

  • Associate Degree in Industrial Automation

  • Ability to electrically diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair CNC equipment independently

  • Ability to troubleshoot through various types of controls

  • Experience in electrical machine repair

Work Environment

Manufacturing facility and machine shop production environment with heavy industrial conditions. These positions are for the AWS Schedule (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) with shifts of 7:30am - 7:30pm and 7:30pm - 7:30am. During the first 2-4 weeks, candidates can expect 40 hours a week on days for training before moving to their assigned shift. Candidates must be open to both shifts.
