Actalent Project Manager, Plant Engineering Services in Louisville, Kentucky

Actalent Services (formerly EASi LLC) is hiring a Project Manager for a permanent leadership role supporting plant engineering services projects within our Manufacturing Engineering Practice. This role offers hybrid flexibility with minimal travel (less than 20%) for candidates local to Actalent's engineering centers in Troy, Michigan or Louisville, Kentucky. Qualified candidates will possess strong P&ID expertise with project engineering experience across multiple industries and industrial environments.

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple outsourced plant engineering projects through all phases of development, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control and closure. The Project Manager will work closely with program management to procure or hire Actalent engineering consultants/employees for projects and with other internal support functions to provide leadership and direction to project teams and ensure projects meet Cost, Quality and Timing requirements. This role requires maintaining and growing relationships with key client stakeholders and Actalent’s onsite/offsite engineering team members to enhance project performance.

Essential Functions

  • Manage multiple plant engineering projects through all phases of development, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control and closure while following Actalent’s Services Management Framework.

  • Ensure compliance to customer specifications, quality standards, regulatory requirements, company procedures and safety requirements.

  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules and documentation including change management, risk mitigation and reporting.

  • Develop tracking methods to monitor customer and internal KPI's.

  • Work closely within Actalent's Delivery Operations to align project management with account management.

  • Distribute workflow from customer to Actalent's engineering and design consultants.

  • Conduct periodic status meetings and design reviews with customers and team to assess progress against the plan.

  • Maintain a high level of relationships with all client stakeholders.

  • Utilize program management skills of communication, presentation, time management, organization and planning to successfully achieve program goals and objectives.

  • Prepare and deliver status reports to Actalent Services' management and appropriate client recipients.

Minimum Education/Abilities/Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical, industrial, manufacturing or related engineering discipline required.

  • Minimum 10 years of overall professional experience. Minimum 3 years of project management experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID's) required

  • Previous experience with plant build and installation oversight, contractor selection and management and construction management required.

  • Plant engineering or project engineering experience in multiple industries (i.e. food&beverage processing, transportation/heavy equipment, industrial products manufacturing, package/parcel handling environments ect.) highly desired.

  • Experience working for engineering services providers strongly preferred.

  • Ability to effectively present to large customer groups.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with managing large dispersed teams with diverse skillsets.

  • Team player with ability to work in a highly cross-functional and virtual environment.

  • Ability to travel to client site or other Actalent engineering centers as needed, up to 10%.

  • PMP Certified a plus; proven knowledge of project management methods required.

  • Highly proficient in PC applications- MS Office suite of tools.

Compensation / Benefits

  • $95,000-$125,000 base salary, $10,000 annual bonus potential, employee profit sharing program, 4 weeks paid time-off, 6 paid holidays, monthly cell phone allowance, 401(k) w/company match, M/D/V benefits
