Position Description:

Assistant in the planning and development of various daily business functions for various departments within the athletic organization. Ensure the athletic organization maintains a favorable public and stakeholder perception while fulfilling the organization's strategic mission.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Direct oversight of the Promotions and Fan Engagement efforts for Texas Tech Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Men’s and Women’s Track & Field, and other sports as assigned:

  • Create, implement, and analyze marketing plans for Texas Tech Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Men’s and Women’s Track & Field

  • Write and distribute game scripts for Texas Tech Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Men’s and Women’s Track & Field

  • Manage the execution of the game scripts for Texas Tech Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Men’s and Women’s Track & Field and serve as the point person for game production

  • Assist with the development of promotional materials, promotional giveaway items, social media content, and video board content

  • Coordinate efforts with external operations staff, Red Raider Sports Properties, coaching staffs, the Texas Tech Spirit Program, and Goin’ Band to ensure success and maximize fan engagement opportunities

  • Collaborate with Red Raider Sports Properties to fulfill revenue-generating sponsored promotions while also creating a fan-engaging atmosphere

  • Assist with the creation of advertising content:

  • Women’s Basketball: emails, social media, in-venue signage, radio, billboards, and digital

  • Baseball: emails, social media, in-venue signage, and radio

  • Men’s and Women’s Track & Field: emails, social media, and in-venue signage

  • Serve as the on-field and on-court promotions assistant at Football and Men’s Basketball games

  • Assist with coordinating various student outreach initiatives on campus

  • Assist with scheduling the national anthem and in-game host talent for respective sports

  • Collaborate with team members to develop new marketing ideas

  • Assist with execution at various Texas Tech Athletics events as needed

  • Perform other job duties and any other responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Athletics Director of Promotions & Fan Engagement

  • Comply with all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and Texas Tech University rules, regulations, and policies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field

  • Two years of marketing experience at a collegiate or professional level (Post-Graduate Internship/Internships count)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Photoshop

  • Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and communication (written, verbal, interpersonal) skills

  • Ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Ability to multi-task effectively and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that could include mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays in order to complete assigned tasks
