Position Description:

The Enterprise Data Architect is responsible for leading a team to develop standards, tools, and governance for capturing, modeling, storing, and delivering enterprise data.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Manage experienced professionals who have independence in assignments.

  • Identify data-related business requirements and service standards, such as transaction processing speed, data mining and reporting capabilities, data security, and scalability.

  • Develop a high-level enterprise data model and conceptual views of related data sub-architectures such as database, data integration, data warehouse/business intelligence, reporting metadata, and content management architectures.

  • Influence others outside their job area regarding policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Designs structure, and layout of data systems, including databases, warehouses, and lakes.

  • Designs and implements processes for the ETL processes from various sources into data systems.

  • Translates high-level business requirements into data models and appropriate metadata, test data, and data quality standards.

  • Defines and manages standards, guidelines, and processes to ensure data quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with various data and web technologies in the cloud and on-premises.

  • Experience as a Database Administrator, Data Manager, or Data Scientist is preferred, though experience in development or programming is also valuable.

  • Experience in relational and dimensional data modeling, analytics, reporting, and visualization.

  • Experience with SQL and web service integration, ETL, and knowledge of databases, data warehouses, Hadoop, and Spark.

  • Experience with database performance tuning, scripting, and data quality tools.

  • Knowledge of statistics, Python and R, machine learning, and data cleansing.

  • Experience with team leadership, mentoring, and staff development.

  • Knowledge of or experience with Cognos and/or PowerBI.
