Position Description:

Serves as the principal clerical and administrative support position to an administrative officer. Performs responsible and complex administrative support or technical program assistance work. Work is performed under general supervision from the administrator. Direct supervision of subordinate personnel may be included in the job responsibilities.

Major/Essential Functions:

Provide administrative support for the Associate Vice Chancellor and Deputy CFO, Office of Treasury, Office of Risk Management and TTUS Controller and Accounting.

Provide business support, including but not limited to: planning, coordinating, and scheduling meetings and events, managing calendar, maintaining organized files and records, processing mail.

Coordinate financial and business functions including budget monitoring, expense analysis, assistance with hiring and position management, department procurement, travel arrangements, inventory and supply management, document retention.

Support strategic department initiatives by preparing and/or coordinating job/work aids, website updates, policy update coordination, and other special projects as assigned.

Strive to positively impact department morale by coordinating employee activities, programs, or celebrations and preparation of related materials, communication, and scheduling.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in clerical/administrative area. Two years progressively responsible administrative or related experience, including one-year supervisory experience. Additional job related experience may substitute for required education on a year-for-year basis.

About the Department and/or College:

The Office of the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the overall financial health and sustainability of the Texas Tech University System. Under the guidance of James Mauldin, vice chancellor and CFO, the office serves as a financial liaison to the board, foundation, donors, state agencies, management and the TTU System’s component institutions and TTU System Administration.

The office supports the strategic priorities of the TTU System and the individual missions of each component institution by identifying financial strategies that best utilize resources and manage risk. The office counsels leadership on the long-term obligations of the institution and collaborates with the TTU System’s component entities to ensure uniform compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Additionally, the office provides a multitude of business services and serves as a resource for the Office of the Chancellor and other areas of the TTU System Administration.
