Bachman’s Lyndale store has an opening for an Assistant Store Manager to oversee the Garden Center. The position is in need of someone who is familiar with plant identification, is able to troubleshoot plant health, excels in customer service, and has past management experience. The right candidate for the job will have a passion for plants and training in a retail setting.

Job Duties:
Manage all sales operations of the garden center area of the store
Hire, train, motivate employees through staff development
Create schedules for staff to match business needs and drive sales
Provide direction to garden center sales, cashiers and customer service/info desk
Support operations of the entire store in the absence of the store manager
Ensure excellent customer service through staff development, leadership and personal interaction with customers
Qualifications:
Associate degree in horticulture or advanced education preferred
Minimum 4 years of experience in retail supervisory or management capacity
Technical knowledge including POS, Windows and Excel
Good verbal and written communication skills demonstrated
Effective interpersonal skills and customer service skills
Knowledge of garden products and services
Can bring a fun energy to the team
Ability to provide strong leadership, train, delegate and motivate staff
MNLA or Master Gardener certification preferred
Merchandising and display skills.
Knowledge of floral products and services
