Job Title : Regional Organizing Director

Reports to : Deputy Organizing Director

Salary : $69,010/annually, generous benefits package

Location : Madison or Milwaukee, WI ( Please note: Employment with the Democratic Party of Wisconsin requires residence or willingness to relocate to the state of Wisconsin. )

Start date : Summer 2024

The Opportunity: As a Regional Organizing Director, you will build local grassroots teams that will then engage in direct voter contact, volunteer recruitment, and volunteer retention. You will be responsible for executing a field program in your assigned geographic region that works to elect Democrats up & down the ballot by building and maintaining the local volunteer infrastructure necessary for success in the Spring Elections and beyond. 

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Work to elect all Democrats up and down the ticket. 

  • Work to build local grassroots volunteer teams that will then engage in direct voter contact, volunteer recruitment and retention across your assigned region ensuring there is sufficient coverage throughout. 

  • Create a strong inclusive progressive presence in communities within your assigned turf.  

  • Implement grassroot field tactics, including managing and executing effective activities, such as canvassing & phone banks. 

  • Work to develop strong relationships with local stakeholders and constituency groups, including county party leaders and members, local grassroots organizations and activists, local candidates and partner and ally groups. 

  • Help to build the local volunteer infrastructure necessary for success in the Spring Elections and beyond. 

  • Responsible for executing the 2024 statewide organizing and outreach programs across Wisconsin. 

  • Meet or exceed metrics based goals for volunteer recruitment & retention as well as direct voter contact.

  • Develop and host skill-building workshops and trainings for local volunteers.

  • During on-cycle periods, manage direct reports in all aspects of their work and support their success in the role by conducting relevant coaching conversations, providing and receiving feedback, and creating an inclusive and engaging team culture. More specific tasks could include but are not limited to:

  • Managing and reviewing time off requests

  • Hiring new team members

  • Having constructive conversations with team members on performance

  • Building rapport and trust within your team

  • Leading projects and delegating tasks

  • Be a representative of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin and our policies, including neutrality as directed.

  • Commitment to Our Values - Desire to fight for Democratic values and candidates.

  • Strong Interpersonal Communication Skills - Namely, can connect with others, motivate & quickly gain trust with volunteers, staff, community members, and coalition partners, including in particular across lines of difference.

     

    Qualifications (Preferred):

  •  Previous organizing experience.

  • Access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel frequently.
