Job Summary

Job Title: Asset Protection Specialist

FLSA Status: Hourly

Reports To: Market Asset Protection Manager

Reporting to the Market Asset Protection Manager, this position is accountable for researching and resolving problems contributing to issues in areas of theft, receiving, safety, and shrink to further optimize the success and profitability of Festival Foods. This position is further responsible to inspire, train, and guide Store Associates through adherence to company best practices, policies, and procedures.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partners with Store Directors, Managers, and Associates to find opportunities to enhance profitability and continue success.

  • Maintains programs that impact shrink results, minimize loss, and effectively increases profits.

  • Monitors safety standards to identify areas of risk and eliminate potential threats.

  • Routinely audits areas for improvement with regard to customer service and compliance.

  • Conducts Core Asset Protection Functions.

  • Identifies and investigates internal and external losses and brings resolution.

  • Brings resolution to cases through research, interviews, and interrogations.

  • Approaches individuals when theft is detected and apprehends when necessary.

  • Maintains a professional relationship with law enforcement agencies.

  • Holds excellent confidentiality skills, especially when dealing with company-related matters.

  • Serves as a leader in matters appropriate to the position.

  • Responds immediately and tactfully to store emergency situations or disturbances.

  • Serves as a content expert on Asset Protection topics to educate Store Associates.

  • Attends and contributes to store huddle-ups, sales meetings and safety meetings.

  • Evaluates and assists with development of Asset Protection Programs.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-3 years of leadership experience preferred.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.

  • Willingness to be trained in Asset Protection, Safety, Leadership and related areas.

  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of information.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to sustain business partnerships throughout the company to achieve initiatives.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently and bring projects to completion.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong ability to work in cross-functional teams.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and OneNote.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Professional presence is required.

  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for an extended periods of time.

  • Travel by car to stores, events, and presentations as scheduled.

  • Lifting of up to 40 pounds may be required on an occasional basis

    WORK SCHEDULE

    The Asset Protection Specialist is a full-time hourly position. The position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs.
