PeopleReady Electrician - Low Voltage Technician in Madison, Wisconsin

Peopleready Skilled Trades is seeking a dependable and experienced low voltage technician to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for installing and maintaining low voltage systems such as security systems, access control, fire alarms, and more in commercial buildings. If you have experience in low voltage systems, a passion for delivering high-quality work, and an interest in working with various customers on a variety of sites - Join us! The pay rate for this job is $20 - $35 / hour

Responsibilities:

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to understand the layout of low voltage systems.

  • Planning and organizing the routing of wires to ensure efficient installation and connection of various components.

  • Measuring, cutting, and stripping wires to the appropriate length and preparing them for installation.

  • Pulling, feeding, and securing wires through conduits, raceways, and other pathways according to specifications.

  • Terminating and spicing wires using appropriate connectors and tools to establish connections between different components.

  • Testing and troubleshooting wiring connections to ensure they meet electrical codes and function properly.

  • Collaborating with other team members, including electricians and project managers to ensure project goals are met.

  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment and adhering to safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe workplace.

  • By performing these tasks with precision and attention to details, you can contribute to the successful installation and operation of commercial low voltage systems.

  • Your expertise as a low voltage technician pulling wire plays a vital role in maintaining the functionality and security of these systems.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience working with low voltage systems.

  • Experience with installation and maintenance of security systems, fire alarms, and network wiring.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Must have your own reliable transportation, PPE, and tools of the trade.

  • Completion of a vocational or technical program in low voltage systems preferred.
