JOB REQUIREMENTS: Lab Assistant Clinical Labs, Float - 37256 Work Schedule : 80% FTE, float position, day shift. 8 hour shifts Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with varying start times between 8:00AM and 9:00AM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. You will float to clinics in Madison, WI. We are seeking a Lab Assistant to: * Perform standardized and specialized phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages and ensure proper patient identification and specimen labeling. * Complete specimen receiving and processing, load them onto instruments or perform the kit testing, and associated instrument maintenance (temperatures, monitoring reagents) and clerical duties (filing, mailing, faxing). * Patient check-in and order entry of laboratory tests in the laboratory information system. * Interact daily with pathologists, physicians, technologists, clinical staff, nursing unit personnel, and patients.
