JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) prides itself in providing outstanding training to graduate students. NIH-supported T32 training grants are an important part of the support provided to graduate students and postdocs, and also provide a framework for carrying out important aspects of research training, such as responsible conduct of research, reproducibility and rigor in experimentation, enhancement of institutional efforts to promote diversity, and many other specific aspects of research training. The Office of Training Grant Support focuses on 1) meeting the training and educational need of pre- and post-doctoral trainees and their mentors and 2) providing the support necessary for T32 directors and other researchers to garner and maintain trainee funding support for continued research and educational excellence at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This position will serve as the Manager of the Office of Training Grant Support. The Manager will act as the administrative leader who will enhance recruitment and training activities, work with the OVCRGE to create functional information technology tools, and assist in training grant application and renewal processes as needed. The Manager will also serve as a school- and university-wide resource, bringing a service-oriented perspective. This position will support the development of new initiatives and will be committed to the integrity of processes as they serve faculty, staff, and students. The Manager will report directly to the SMPH Associate Dean of Basic Research Training or designee. Responsibilities: Manages research administration activities from proposal preparation through closeout on behalf of a unit. Reviews and approves proposal submissions, contract negotiations, project setups, compliance, and/or financial reporting. Develops and oversees implementation of operations and strategic planning to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements within a school/college/division/unit.
