GovCIO Sr. Release Scheduler/Project Analyst (Remote) in Madison, Wisconsin

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Sr. Release Scheduler/Project Analyst to support our client at the Department of Veterans Affairs OIT (Office of Information Technology) Health Portfolio, Scheduling Product Line. This position will be a fully remote position within the United States with core hours of operation from Monday through Friday 8am-5pm eastern time.

Responsibilities

The Sr. Release Scheduler/Project Analyst is responsible for creating, updating, and coordinating project schedules, resource usage models, and predictions. The Sr. Release Scheduler/ Project Analyst also works closely with team leaders to build, evaluate, and optimize release schedules. The Sr. Release Scheduler/ Project Analyst will participate in a cross-functional team environment in development and oversight of IT release and dependency schedules. The role is also responsible for performing Change Management and MS Teams Planner tasks that support release management. This position will report to the Product Team PMO Program Manager.

  • Coordinate and collaborate closely with various IT and business program/project participants to gather schedule data (e.g., individual discrete tasks and events, relationships, dependencies, durations, resources, etc.) to build the project schedule, and capture actual progress against the schedule.

  • Validate schedule logic following data input.

  • Develop, manage, and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule

  • Develop Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) related reports to communicate schedule updates, progress, risks, issues, and so on.

  • Knowledge of VS GUI/ Veteran Health Information and Technology Architecture (VistA) release process; ability to communicate release related tasks such as plans, timelines etc. to different stakeholders.

  • Review status of projects; manage schedules and prepare status reports

  • Communicate crucial plans, checkpoints, and changes for releases during sprints: increment cut off, begin, and complete testing.

  • Perform schedule analysis and provide metrics to key stakeholders on a regular basis. Analyses may include, but are not limited to, “what-if” analysis to predict impacts to the IMS, forecasts, variances, trends, critical path issues, and gap identification. Recommend courses of action and solutions based on the analysis results and metrics.

  • Regularly review critical path, schedule content, task relationships, lags, constraints, milestones, etc.

  • Ensure that all projects are being scheduled and forecast using a consistent methodology.

  • Support client by developing, updating, and maintaining presentations and briefings, memoranda, and messages including, but not limited to, supporting tables, graphics, and figures.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement.

  • Understand the projects business issues and challenges and account for those in the schedule.

  • Manage changes throughout the release process.

  • Facilitate recurring and ad-hoc working sessions and meetings with the VA OIT client and its VHA business partners to collect and review schedule data.

  • Experience preparing technical documents such as manuals, how-to guides, and other supporting documents to communicate technical information more easily.

  • Ability to write meeting notes and collaborate with team members on notetaking.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's with 8+ years (or commensurate experience)

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Expertise with MS Project and MS Teams

  • Strong work ethic and judgment; self-starter and lead with minimal guidance.

  • Work in a team-oriented environment and as an individual with minimal guidance.

  • Experience working on software development and deployment projects, specifically large, complex enterprise-wide system deployments.

  • Analytical and investigative skills.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail; ability to prioritize several project assignments on multiple topics.

  • Ability to identify and prioritize communication vehicles for various audiences.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content for various internal and external audiences across multiple platforms.

  • Ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced office environment.

  • Critical thinker and problem solver; ability to define and analyze problems and develop solutions.

  • Experience with other scheduling tools

  • Experience with ServiceNow

  • Agile / SAFe SDLC experience

  • Jira experience

  • VistA and AWS experience

  • Department of VA, OIT experience

Clearance Required:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability / Public Trust clearance

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $85,000.00 - USD $95,000.00 /Yr.
