Vanguard Business Technology Analyst- Finance in Malvern, Pennsylvania
Join the Finance Data Governance team, a small but mighty technology-focused team which operates in the growing field of data management, specifically in Oracle Cloud, and specializes in all-things data related to support the goals and objectives of Corporate Finance. We are seeking an individual with high corporate finance acumen and strong tech skills.
The Business Technology Analyst will:
Own and manage end-to-end process for updating key metadata that serves as the basis for all financial transactions and enables Vanguard’s core business operations. Partner with crew across Finance to ensure metadata requests align with guiding principles/definitions and contain complete and accurate information to be elevated in a timely manner.
Serve as subject matter expert for key segment areas used for financial and management reporting. Drive improvements within segment areas to align with best practices of data management and advance the goals of the department and Corporate Finance.
Maintains a high degree of technical proficiency in Finance cloud technologies and performs routine system functions that coincide with business processes. Adapts to new technologies and continuously grows system acumen to support everchanging business needs.
Ensure key controls are designed and operating effectively based off Enterprise Data Governance office and manages risk by identifying process breakdowns and control gaps. Apply a control mindset to prevent data quality issue before they happen. Address findings and exceptions accordingly.
Build and maintain effective relationships across Finance. Proactively foster communication between key business partners and peers in FinTech. Represent Finance Data Governance as part of broader initiatives such as new business ventures, company restructuring, shifts in business operations, etc.
Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
What it takes:
Three years related work experience.
Finance acumen and familiarity with Vanguard's finance processes preferred.
An awareness of the broad processes of Corporate Finance, including planning, purchasing, accounting, and reporting.
An aptitude for learning new systems and technologies.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Skill Set:
Strong Stakeholder Mgmt skills
Oracle applications exp.
Background in Data Governance
