Leidos is seeking a Director of Maintenance (DOM). The Director of Maintenance is responsible for oversight of all program aircraft maintenance through established DCMA 8210.1a, DA PAM 738-751, IS-BAO, FAR Part 91/145 and industry standard compliant policies and procedures. This position supports a 24/7/365 OCONUS operation of a fleet of aircraft and program functional support to the Program Manager (PM) with direct support to the Director of Maintenance Airborne Systems Business Area.

THE CHALLENGE (primary responsibilities)

  • Establish comprehensive aircraft maintenance procedures covering DCMA 8210.1a, DA PAM 738-751, IS-BAO, FAR Part 91/145.

  • Develop and maintain an accurate and timely aircraft maintenance reporting system.

  • Provide maintenance forecasts for scheduled aircraft maintenance with the PM, program team, and the customer to provide ample time to plan and mitigate operational availability

  • Identify and recommend risk mitigation strategies/plans to optimize operational readiness of the fleet and minimize down time due to unscheduled maintenance.

  • Ensure all aircraft maintenance related CDRLs are submitted in a timely manner.

  • Oversee the recruitment, selection, discipline, and training of personnel. Flow procedures to employees and evaluate training programs to determine their effectiveness.

  • Maintain appropriate liaison with subcontractors, suppliers and vendors while following internal, local, state, and federal oversight agencies for purchases of goods and services.

  • Provide guidance to subordinate employees and peers when appropriate, collaborating and cooperating with other members of the management team-support the performance appraisal systems for maintenance employees by completing timely and accurate evaluations.

  • Create Statements of Work (SOW) for material and services needed for all aspects of aircraft maintenance and sustainment.

  • Oversee the program level Mission Management Information System.

WHAT SETS YOU APART (basic qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from an accredited four year college or university in aviation maintenance and 8+ years of experience. Additional years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree

  • Understand and use the English language both oral and written to communicate information or ideas to another person or persons-read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulation

  • Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals-effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public

  • Experience deploying OCONUS in management/lead roles in support of in aircraft maintenance and sustainment of US DoD contractor owned and contractor operated (COCO) or government owned and contractor operated (GOCO) aircraft.

  • Experience in the mobilization and de-mobilization of OCONUS airborne operations, conducting pre-deployment site surveys (PDSS), site standup, achieving initial operational capability (IOC), full operational capability (FOC), and in the de-mobilization of a site

  • Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers-obtain a passport, visa, and Department of Defense security clearance

  • Must have a Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

  • Proficient in software packages such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project, Teams, and program level Mission Management Information System (MMIS)

  • Experienced interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and schematics of aircraft instrument/electronic components-recognize from schematics and drawings not only how one assembly functions but also how various assemblies interact with each other

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles sufficient to perform the job, duties, and tasks associated with the position.

  • Component repair-instrument, electronic and electrical test equipment-military or commercial aviation maintenance

  • US Government regulations for federal contractors and FAA maintenance programs-aircraft maintenance terminology certification / experience

  • A&P certification is required

  • Meet requirements to obtain FAA Inspector Authorization (IA) certification

  • Involvement in US military programs and or operations

  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% (CONUS/OCONUS)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently hold a TS/SCI Security Clearance

  • Currently hold a FAA Inspector Authorization (IA) certification

  • COCO high operational tempo OCONUS fleet management experience

Pay Range:

Pay Range $108,550.00 - $196,225.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
