    This Social Worker position is for a vacancy located in our Residential Inpatient Facility in Mandeville, Louisiana .

    This position is in a Career Progression Series and may be filled as either a Social Worker 1, Social Worker 2, Social Worker 3 or a Social Worker 4, depending on the applicant’s level of experience and licensure.

    This position may be filled as a Probational Appointment . Applicants may be asked to serve a probationary period that may be anywhere from 6 months to 24 months.

Salary may be negotiable depending on the chosen applicant’s level of experience.

Below is a list of the pay range(s) for the position(s).NOTE: The following rates are Special Entrance Rates (SER) established for this agency in these job titles:

  • Social Worker 1: $19.88/hour minimum - $33.08/hour maximum

  • Social Worker 2: $21.27/hour minimum - $33.71/hour maximum

  • Social Worker 3: $22.76/hour minimum - $37.88/hour maximum

  • Social Worker 4: $24.35/hour minimum - $40.53/hour maximum

Salary may be negotiable depending on the chosen applicant’s level of experience. Note regarding the advertised pay range: The maximum amount listed is the maximum salary a person can make while in this title and NOT the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW), Louisiana Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Louisiana Certified Social Worker (CSW) licensure by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners is required for this job. The CSW is a temporary credential issued after the LA State Board of Social Work Examiners approves an application for LMSW. An applicant has six months from the date of initial CSW issuance to take the LMSW examination. If a passing score is not achieved, the CSW is required to retake the Masters examination within one year from the date the CSW failed the exam. CSW licensure must be renewed annually and can be held for a maximum of three years from the original date of issue of the CSW.

Permanent status will not be granted in this job title without LMSW or LCSW licensure; Certified Social Worker (CSW) credential will not be accepted for granting permanent status.

NOTE:

The master's degree in social work must be from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, 1701 Duke Street, Suite 200, Alexandria, VA 22314.

Examples of Work

This Social Worker position provides direct substance use disorder treatment services in a ASAM Level III.5 Clinically Managed High Intensity Adult Residential Facility. Duties include treating clients with substance-related disorders and participating in the decision-making process of the treatment team, interviewing prospective clients and their families, providing crisis intervention and emergency counseling as needed, formulating and constructing a comprehensive treatment plan on each client by collaborating with other professional treatment team members, performing psychosocial evaluations on all clients, and serving as a liaison to the judicial system, providing testimony, reports, and recommendations on behalf of the clients as needed.
