Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Graduate/GED
- Minimum Age 21
- Be in excellent physical condition
- U.S. citizen
- Valid Virginia Drivers License
- Position requires working days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts
- Must successfully complete and pass all phases of the academic requirements of the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services for a law enforcement officer and maintain that certification during tenure.
- Must pass a written, psychological, and medical examination.
- Must pass a background investigation to include a criminal history inquiry. Note: Candidates who have engaged in any activity that would support a felony conviction are unlikely to receive favorable consideration. Misdemeanor convictions for crimes relating to theft, domestic violence, or assault are likely to disqualify (incomplete and/or inaccurate information on personal history may be caused for rejection).
