South Central Regional Sales Manager – Telecom Solutions Business Unit

Team Overview and Job responsibilities

The South Central regional sales manager is responsible for sales performance metrics in the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. Working in the Telecom Solutions Business Unit, your primary products are bulk fiber cable, fiber connectivity, and outside plant copper cables. Key performance metrics are sales volume, sales dollars, contribution margin, and quote-to-order win ratios.

The South Central regional manager role involves interactions with end user/operators, distributors, contractors, and engineering firms. As a regional sales manager you may also be responsible for managing external sales rep agents in various states. You may also have BU leadership for several major key accounts that are headquartered within the region.

The role requires >40% overnight travel during a normal work week.

Annual sales objectives for the south central region are >$50M annual.

Compensation involves base salary + quarterly bonus program. A company car is included as part of the compensation package.

The successful candidate will require a well balanced mix of technical, consultative, and relationship sales techniques. A successful candidate will be proactive in going into the field to meet with the installers and splicers. The role requires above average public speaking and presentation skills as these are a key daily part of the role. Your support team includes product managers and field service managers.

Who are we looking for?

Required qualifications:

  • Prior experience with outside plant fiber cable is a must.

  • Must be proficient with WORD, Excel and Powerpoint

  • Must live in the northern Texas region, preferably the DFW area.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior experience in fiber splicing, OSP cable installations, or OSP engineering,

  • Knowledge of fiber network architecture and PON network design

  • Experience working with a telecom distributor is highly valued

  • An engineering degree is highly valued, but not a requirement.
