Trinity Health Mechanic I - Engineering - Full Time - Days in Mason City, Iowa

Description:

Position Purpose:

The Mechanic repairs and maintains hospital mechanical and plumbing equipment through the facility.

What you will Do:

  • Understands, diagnoses and effectively employs appropriate procedures for maintenance of building systems.

  • Performs maintenance on mechanical equipment, Understands and applies basic hydraulic, and electrical principles.

  • Maintains basic parts inventories.

  • Performs data entry on departmental preventive maintenance and work order software.

  • Attends training applicable to job performance enhancement as well as competency and departmental meetings.

  • Supports and abides by all health center departmental and safety policies and procedures.

  • Proactively identifies safety concerns surrounding the work environment.

Hours/Schedule:

Full Time, Days (40) hours/week.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school education degree or equivalent required.

  • Post secondary education or formal technical training highly preferred.

  • A minimum of four years' experience as building maintenance mechanic.

  • Mechanical aptitude.

  • Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

  • Proficiency in interpreting drawing, details and specifications.

  • Working knowledge of codes (UBC and local)

  • Valid drivers license required.

  • Able to work under stressful conditions.

  • Must be able to wear appropriate mask and be fit tested on an annual basis

  • Completes Mandatory Reporting: Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.
