Description:
Position Purpose:
The Mechanic repairs and maintains hospital mechanical and plumbing equipment through the facility.
What you will Do:
Understands, diagnoses and effectively employs appropriate procedures for maintenance of building systems.
Performs maintenance on mechanical equipment, Understands and applies basic hydraulic, and electrical principles.
Maintains basic parts inventories.
Performs data entry on departmental preventive maintenance and work order software.
Attends training applicable to job performance enhancement as well as competency and departmental meetings.
Supports and abides by all health center departmental and safety policies and procedures.
Proactively identifies safety concerns surrounding the work environment.
Hours/Schedule:
Full Time, Days (40) hours/week.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school education degree or equivalent required.
Post secondary education or formal technical training highly preferred.
A minimum of four years' experience as building maintenance mechanic.
Mechanical aptitude.
Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Proficiency in interpreting drawing, details and specifications.
Working knowledge of codes (UBC and local)
Valid drivers license required.
Able to work under stressful conditions.
Must be able to wear appropriate mask and be fit tested on an annual basis
Completes Mandatory Reporting: Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.
