The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will drive innovation and design excellence throughout the product development process. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will develop advanced technologies for scientific instruments utilized in various laboratory environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a passion for designing impactful solutions.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with electronics and software engineers to integrate their efforts within the product development team.
Participate in the processes from conception to production.
Revise existing products and contribute to new product development.
Develop prototypes for testing and conduct evaluations to identify design issues or opportunities for improvements.
Document designs including 3D Models, Drawings, and Assembly Procedures.
Responsible for the physical design of instruments, including electromechanical, fluidic, and optical components.
Identify and troubleshoot problems throughout the entire product life cycle.
Contribute to New Product Development and New Product Introduction.
Essential Skills
8-10 years of experience as a mechanical engineer involved in diverse design projects
Expertise in electromechanical systems
Experience with fluidic and optical components
Proficiency in 3-D CAD modeling, particularly with Creo Parametric
Strong background in mechanical engineering, product design, and prototyping
Ability to document designs including 3D models, drawings, and assembly procedures
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field (physics, applied math, electrical engineering, chemistry)
Master’s Degree is a plus
Significant experience working in a multi-disciplinary project team with a proven record of design innovation
Familiarity with Autocad, electrical systems, and new product development
Work Environment
The work environment is highly collaborative and cross-functional, consisting of mechanical, sustaining, and development teams. The company offers relocation packages if necessary, which vary depending on the situation. The role involves working with advanced technologies and scientific instruments in a laboratory setting.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
