THIS IS A TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Position Summary:
Tidal Basin has an immediate need for an experienced Safety Officer to join our team. The Safety Officer will perform safety inspections at one or more state-led interim housing construction sites to assess hazards and ensure compliance with industry best safety protocols. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform inspections in accordance with established standards for definable features of onsite construction activities, such as earthworks, civil, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing.
Inspect work during construction and during final inspection to ensure compliance with the contract documents.
Review installation plans and materials to ensure compliance with the contract documents.
Prepare daily field inspection reports.
Report deficiencies to the project Quality Control and Operations Teams.
Skills and Competencies
Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English
High level of professionalism
Those with proficiency in Spanish, Olelo Hawai'I, Ilokano, Korean, or Tagalog encouraged to apply
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
3 years’ experience
OSHA 30 required
Certified Construction Manager or Certified Professional Inspector certification preferred
Work Environment
May be austere and physically demanding
Conditions may include extreme heat, inclement weather, dust, and noise
Candidate will be provided with PPE, but will be expected to furnish own footwear meeting or exceeding the ASTM F2413-18 standard
Work Location: Maui, HI
The pay range for this position is $30 to $50 per hour.
