Under the direction of the Director of Patient Relations, supports Loyola University Health System administration, physicians, and staff in responding to problems, concerns and complaints expressed by patients and families. Conducts investigation, notifies appropriate managers and physicians, analyzes and works toward resolution of complaints to increase patient and family satisfaction.

The Patient Relations Specialist is responsible for addressing patient and family concerns by interviewing patients, families, and staff. This role involves accessing clinical information systems to investigate complaints, facilitating multi-disciplinary care conferences, and implementing plans for resolution. The specialist monitors complaints to ensure complete resolution, documents actions taken, and provides follow-up assistance for Advance Directives. This position requires effective communication with various departments to ensure timely and satisfactory resolution of all patient issues.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Education:

Required: Bachelors Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education

Preferred: Bachelors Degree

Specify Degree(s): Healthcare related field

Minimum Experience:

Required: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience

Preferred: 6-10 years of previous job-related experience
