Description

The Department of Biology at Texas A&M University has an opening for a Lecturer position with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2024. This is a full-time position and will not accrue tenure. The position is a 9-month appointment, from September to May. The primary role of this position is to provide high-quality biology instruction to undergraduates. The department has particular needs in its 2-course Introductory Biology series, BIOL 111 and BIOL 112.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree conferred before August 1, 2024, in biology or a related science.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one semester of teaching experience as instructor of record (or functional equivalent) of an undergraduate or graduate course.

  • Breadth of knowledge to teach a variety of biological disciplines. However, preference will be given to candidates with a background in cellular and molecular biology or ecology and evolution.

  • Experience with student-centered pedagogical teaching approaches that enhance student success.
