Job Title: Legal Assistant

Location: McKinney, Texas

Job Type: Short Term Contract

Come join our dynamic legal team at a premier law firm in McKinney, Texas and make a difference in our day-to-day operations. We are seeking a meticulous, experienced Legal Assistant to provide critical support to our paralegals. This role requires exceptional administrative, client interaction, and legal document preparation abilities.

Responsibilities:

• Support paralegals in all aspects of the case management process, from initiation to trial.

• Effectively handle administrative tasks and client interactions with utmost professionalism.

• Assist in the retrieval of clients' medical records and bills.

• Assist with the preparation of demands, open records requests, and other necessary documents.

• Capably manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Utilize and understand medical terminology in relation to various cases.

• Use Case Management Software, LexisNexis, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suites for efficient task management.

• Conduct billing functions and maintain calendars as required.

• Draft, review, and maintain documentation with excellent attention to detail.

• Be fluent in Spanish to ensure effective communication with Spanish-speaking clients (preferred)

• Familiarize yourself with Personal Injury Law and Personal Injury Litigation.

Requirements

Experience and Abilities:

Applicants should have previous experience working as a legal assistant, remarkable attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using legal management software and strong knowledge of Personal Injury Law and Personal Injury Litigation are preferred.

• Proficiency in case management software

• Experience with LexisNexis

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites

• Understanding of billing functions within a legal context

• Ability to prepare and present briefings

• Proven experience in calendar management

• Excellent documentation skills

• Fluency in Spanish

• Understanding of personal injury law and personal injury litigation

• Ability to work in a team as well as independently

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure

• Ability to adapt to changing work environment and to learn new processes quickly

• Excellent customer service skills

• Willingness to stay updated with changes in laws and regulations relevant to the field of personal injury law

• Strong organizational skills.
