The Senior Principal Systems Security Engineer and Team Lead-P5 will exhibit a high degree of creativity and ingenuity, and will be responsible for architecting, designing and developing advanced systems leveraging Systems Integrity and Cyber Security guidelines and concepts. The position requires subject matter expertise and experience in secure systems and Anti-Tamper. This is a high-growth technical area and the candidate must be a self-starter that enjoys collaboration and pursuing innovative, practical solutions. This position also provides technical guidance and mentoring for his/her team members and is also accountable to programs ensuring that the work products are of the highest quality and meet the program objectives. The candidate must be strong technically, a leader and a subject matter expert in this field. This position requires work on-site at our McKinney, Texas campus.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and develop embedded security solutions and be responsible for leading and executing the security efforts for secure system products

  • Generate security subsystem specifications, security subsystem architecture, Critical Program Information (CPI) assessments, Anti-Tamper plans, and Verification and Validation (V&V) plans

  • Work independently and as a member of a team in coordination with engineers in development, integration, test, and modeling

  • Exhibit a high degree of creativity and ingenuity and be responsible for developing advanced systems leveraging Anti-Tamper guidelines and framework

  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers and brief senior company and customer leadership teams

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 10+ years of experience in Systems/Software Engineering architecture, requirements, determination, development and implementation

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Experience in designing, implementing, testing and fielding real-time embedded security-oriented solutions on Department of Defense (DoD) programs

  • Experience with design/development/implementation in Anti-Tamper (HW, SW, Systems)

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Background in both Systems Engineering and Software Engineering practices

  • Experience with certification and accreditation of cryptographic, anti-tamper, multi-level security solutions, and other security-related engineering products / systems

  • Demonstrated organization, coordination, planning and teaming skills

  • High degree of technical writing experience, in developing domain focused white papers, trade studies, and technical/policy documents in support of initiatives, programs and proposals.

  • Knowledge of reverse engineering principles and methods

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
