Our Geospatial Intelligence team provides skills and capabilities to task, order, receive, process, disseminate, and exploit national, tactical, and commercial Intelligence within an integrated architecture in support of Geospatial Intelligence users. We support and enable the production of intelligence and situational awareness for national and warfighter security, targeting, command and control, and humanitarian aid. Our capabilities include requirements and mission workflow analysis for sensor platforms and ground systems, specialized computing platforms, architecture design and integration of data and systems in support of exploitation processes, advanced analytics, and integrated intelligence analysis from seabed to space.

Job Description:

Are you interested in strengthening the bond between our FVEY International Partners and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA)? Do you want to broaden your horizons by supporting the key GEOINT Partnership that Great Britain provides while learning new accents, phrases, culinary treats, and travel tips along the way?

MITRE is seeking a candidate to work on site in Wyton, UK in support of NGA’s Partnership with the United Kingdom. The selected candidate will provide independent and unbiased technical talent to the operations of US and partner systems and make recommendations to ensure successful development, integration, testing, fielding, and operations of US and partner intelligence systems.

Candidates should demonstrate the ability to identify and communicate any changes that have potential to impact the Partner’s Ways of Working (WoW), IT, or interfaces. This requires the ability to collate and present complex issues on a range of GEOINT solutions to US and partner system owners. MITRE Engineering will need to work independently while identifying and maintaining contacts throughout NGA, the Partner’s Engineering team, and their user base.

The chosen candidate will need to work as a team with other Partner support contractors and NGA Government personnel located both in the US and collocated with the partner.

This position is based in Wyton, United Kingdom with the expectation of a three-year term. Occasional travel may also be required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance

  • Due to the lengthy clearance process, candidates without an existing TS/SCI cannot be considered for this opening.

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

  • Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field of study

  • Previous experience with NGA, NGA’s Mission and the IT systems employed to enable that Mission

  • Three year commitment to relocate to Wyton, UK

  • This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site.

Preferred Qualifications:

Highly qualified candidates would meet several of the following preferred qualifications, however, we do not expect any individual to meet all of them:

  • Understanding of NGA’s Mission, from operations to the IT employed to enable Mission success

  • Knowledge of NGA programs of records and future changes that could impact the partner, specifically knowledge in the areas of Structured Observation Management (SOM), workflow management, Imagery Library architecture, cloud computing, big data analytics and 5 Eyes Enterprise (5EE) concepts

  • Ability to break apart complex problems/ideas dealing with near-term or long-term interoperability and communicate solutions to both engineers and Senior Stakeholder representation from the Allied System for Geospatial (ASG) Intelligence

  • Ability to work independently across multiple topic areas

  • Promotion of GEOINT solutions that impact those areas of the partner’s architecture that provide direct benefit to the burden sharing relationship

  • Previous experience working with the FVEY Intelligence Community

  • Understanding of US EXPORT/ITAR regulations

  • Acquisition lifecycle and Requirements development
