DESCRIPTION OF WORK This thrilling career opportunity as a Health Care Nurse Surveyor enables you to create a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable populations by identifying vital resources and advocating for health equity policies that comply with state and federal regulations. You will be responsible for inspecting home care agencies and registries, home health agencies, hospice agencies, end stage renal disease facilities, birth centers, pediatric extended care centers, outpatient physical therapy clinics, comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation facilities, rural health centers, and federally qualified health centers. Your duties will include ensuring compliance with rules; conducting surveys for licensure, re-licensure, and certification under Medicaid and Medicare requirements; and managing facility and agency applications. Other types of surveys you may perform include complaint and incident investigations, occupancy inspections, and follow-up visits to confirm that the facility has addressed any identified issues according to its plan of correction. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Statewide travel, overnight travel and flexible work hours are required in order to accommodate state and federal mandates.

Frequent travel within Erie, Crawford, and Warren Counties is a requirement of this position. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You may have the opportunity to work from home the days you are not out surveying. Surveyors spend 3 to 4 days on average in the field each week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Meadville. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Special Requirements: All positions require successful completion of the relevant provider-specific federally mandated Surveyor Minimum Qualifications training and Test (SMQT) provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services or an equivalent certifying body for the discipline, within one year of hire. All positions require active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. All positions require possession of an active motor vehicle license.
