Job Description
The Maintenance manager reports to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for managing one maintenance technician.
The Maintenance Manager will also serve as backup for the Plant Manager for end-of-day coverage on the production floor.
Primary responsibility is to perform skilled work and complete day-to-day tasks, routine assignments, and maintenance procedures to ensure equipment, machines, systems, and production lines are effectively maintained to reduce downtime or unplanned situations that disrupt production flow and production efficiency.
The Maintenance Department works as a team to investigate, troubleshoot, and complete repairs, and resolve all high-priority situations, critical needs, or emergencies when they arise.
The Department’s scope encompasses the entire Buckeye Fresh facility, including all interior and exterior systems, equipment, and infrastructure, and building grounds.
The Maintenance Department utilizes Buckeye Fresh’s Computerized Maintenance Management System to plan and organize preventative maintenance events and maintain thorough documentation and accurate records for all activities performed throughout the day.
Must demonstrate a high level of workmanship with attention to detail and strive to have their work set the example.
Expected to review completed work results, methods, and procedures to continuously improve, learn, and contribute to elevating the overall knowledge and proficiency of the entire department.
Document “lessons learned” when time is allowed and improve preventative and predictive maintenance schedules and procedures.
Expected to regularly engage with equipment operators, team leads and other production personnel to proactively identify and resolve issues before they become high priority situations or critical issues, and continuously improve the preventative and predictive maintenance schedules for machines or equipment, etc.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to operate scissor lifts, fork trucks, or other equipment used in building maintenance trades.
Ability to lift/move 50 lbs. and ability to move 100 bs.
Dedication to continuous improvement, accuracy, and precision.
Well, organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
5 years of management experience preferred.
