Business Intelligence Reporting Analyst

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 3 or more years of related experiencein Business Intelligence
  • Previous ERP system experience
  • Demonstrated capability in intermediate business knowledge, including deep financial skills and an understanding of financial flows
  • Experience in analytical and financial model-building

Technical Skills:

  • Required experience with SQL, Power BI, and either R or Python
  • Work through a problem from start to finish: defining the problem, identifying necessary data, locating the data, building required models and visualizations, and effectively communicating the results
  • Knowledge of statistics, data analytics, and data visualization.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint

Soft Skills

  • Oral and written communication skills for collaboration with both internal and external finance employees
  • Interpersonal skills to work within a team environment
  • Time management and organizational skills, handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strategic and diplomatic relationship management

Job Summary

The Business Analyst analyzes and communicates financial results for key products, markets, and initiatives, develops compelling storylines to help deepen client insights, and recommends creative actions to guide strategy and operations. This role formulates financial projections to support predicting and tracking performance and diagnosing potential issues.

Role and Responsibilities

To perform the job successfully, an individual must perform each essential duty satisfactorily and demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position consistently.   • Prepare annual expense plan and periodic expense forecasts
  • Isolate key drivers, quantify impacts, and forecast implications to the business recognizing how different data points fit together
  • Prepare and help build a storyline for financial updates to senior leadership
  • Use analysis to influence and drive action within the business by using fact-based, holistic, and forward-looking perspectives to identify emerging issues and current trends, and assist in the implementation of strategies
  • Use data analytics to inform expense planning, forecasting, and budget analysis
  • Continuously develop and improve analytical processes to increase automation and improve accuracy
  • Utilize resources and produce results to solve problems or issues with minimal support
  • Accept responsibility for the outcome of their own efforts
  • Provide accurate, timely reports with financial insight to allow business partners to improve performance
  • Develop and lead presentations for small groups
  • Drive conversations with leadership to understandthebusiness implications of current trends

Physical Demands

While performing general office duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and/or walk around (including the use of stairs). Other demands include, to communicate with others by talking, listening, and reading.

Work Environment

The office environment is generally quietand, in a temperature,controlled setting with random adjustments in noise or temperature duetoconversations, unscheduled maintenance repairs to the building or its interior offices or unpredictable situations due to weather or other acts beyond company control. An employee must work their regularly assigned work schedule for theirdutiesand/or job responsibilities and in times of need, work an extend d schedule depending onthecompany/department needs, project requirements,or customer demands.
