The Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for an Engineering Manager 2, Digital Tools to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Melbourne, Florida .

In this hands-on leadership role, you will oversee a team of approximately 12-15 engineers on the Engineering Products & Tools team responsible for the development, maintenance, and user support of CAD and CPLM tools. The successful candidate will have both engineering design experience and a command of CAD and PLM tools.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Technical oversight, participation in the performance review process, management of personnel records and participation in corrective or disciplinary actions

  • Staffing responsibilities may include hiring, reduction in force actions, recruiting of personnel and working to ensure that designers with the appropriate skills and experience are deployed.

  • Team engagement, mentoring, and career guidance

  • In addition to managing the team, the candidate will be responsible for fulfilling a technical role which may include participation in the development, maintenance, and user support of CAD and CPLM tools

  • Developing, managing, and performing training opportunities and budget allocations

  • Participates in tool, process, and metric initiatives

  • Validation and regression testing for tool upgrades across programs

  • Process documentation, development, and integration

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline and 9 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science (MS) degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of related professional/military experience

  • Experience with aircraft mechanical design and integration and/or engineering tools development, maintenance, and support

  • Experience with PLM and CAD programs

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance prior to the commencement of employment

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current, in-scope DoD Secret clearance (or higher)

  • Current Special Program Access (SAP) clearance

  • Experience with CPLM/Teamcenter and NX

  • Control Account Management (CAM) experience

  • Effective communication, presentation, and training skills

Salary Range: $131,200 - $196,800

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
